Author and journalist Elisabeth Petry will give a virtual presentation on her remarkable family story.

Hear about the legacy that includes:

• the first best-selling female African American author
• a member of the 48th US Volunteer Infantry in the Philippines after the Spanish-American War
• two of the very first licensed African American pharmacists in the state of Connecticut (Old Saybrook)

Elisabeth will also reveal details on her forthcoming project – a documentary featuring her family’s letters, produced in collaboration with her cousins.
