About Dr. Mancarella

Dr. Krista Mancarella was first introduced to the world of psychology during a high school career day when a Dance / Movement Therapist from the Institute of Living presented to the senior class. Having been a ballerina throughout her childhood, the combination of dance and psychology was an immediate fit for her. Dr. Mancarella moved to Philadelphia PA where she attended the University of the Arts, earing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts. In 2000, Dr, Mancarella graduated from Hahnemann University (currently Drexel University) with a Master’s of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy. A few years later, she went on to earn a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Chestnut Hill College. Dr. Mancarella has continued her post graduate education, currently working toward a certification in Sex Therapy.

Krista has been passionate about working with children, families and couples since her early career. Dr. Mancarella used her thesis research to develop a dance / movement therapy program to support children who had a parent diagnosed with cancer at the Wellness Community in Delaware. Her doctoral research explored the use of mindfulness to address childhood stress with youth living in urban environments and enrolled in partial hospitalization programs.

Dr. Mancarella has worked in a variety of settings, from outpatient clinics and practices to residential facilities, working her way up from therapist to supervisor to program director. In 2015, she opened her own private practice in Blue Bell, PA. After relocating in 2018 to Connecticut, she founded Better Being Connecticut. Currently, Dr. Mancarella works with individuals and couples experiencing relationship and intimacy issues along with sexual disorders. Additionally, she treats children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing concerns related to trauma, ADHD, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, life phase transitions and stress / burnout.
